Revived by Edwin Payne, Shelby was reluctant at first to talk about her ex-boyfriend Brad, whose abusive and destructive behaviour led to her eventually taking her own life. The trauma she had experienced at his hand continued to deeply affect her in death, giving her spirit the ability to fly and emit a super-sonic cry, like the banshees of Irish folklore whenever she felt intense emotions of anger, pain and vulnerability.
Revealing everything she knew about the case, which was nothing more than revealing the true character of Brad and Hunter, she concluded that while she did not have any part in their deaths, she could not help but feel relieved in the knowledge that they would not be able to harm anyone else.
