"Spot" - Earth 254182

Known as The Beast with No Name, this monster was formerly a denizen of Hell, sharing lineage with the Serpent Queen, Ran Va Daath, the half-demon mage Merlin, and the gatekeeper Squatterbloat. However, unlike the majority of those he spent his time with, he was a kind-hearted and caring creature, showing compassion and tenderness to the unfortunate souls residing there.

Expelled from Hell's capital city Dis and its sister city-state Pandemonium, he wandered aimlessly through the outlands with only the Lord of Redemption Scapegoat as his company.

The Beast was accidentally transported to Earth during an occult ritual conducted by The Order of Ancient Mysteries, where he bonded with the young grandson of their newly appointed leader, Stanley Dover.

Mistaken for a big dog, he was affectionately dubbed "Spot" and was introduced as his imaginary friend, due to so few people being able to see him. Yet he was always there, following closely and protecting his charge from harm. He lived with Dover Jr, spending nights curled up either at the foot of his bed or in his wardrobe.

They lived a relatively ordinary life...

That was until Dover Sr, after discovering the truth, tried to forcibly corrupt (and kill) his grandson and make him a vessel for Irra-Jahad, one of the Seven Gods of Chaos. Cutting a demon warding symbol onto Jr's chest, Sr temporarily separated the two friends.

But before the ritual could be completed The Dead Boy Detectives, with the aid of Jill Presto and Abby & William Arcane, arrived in Star City and defeated him.

Incapable of forgiving Dover Sr for all the twisted cruelty he subjected Jr to, Spot mauled him to death; the first and only time he has ever shed the blood of another. He made sure to do this out of sight of Jr, wishing to preserve the boy's innocence. With Sr dead and the symbol removed from Jr's body, the pair were once more reunited.

Having nowhere else to go, both Stanley Jr and Spot joined The Dead Boy Detective Agency in their adventures.
