Charles Rowland's Father - The Sandman

The father of Charles Rowland, he was an architect responsible mainly for designing hospitals. Following the death of his wife, he was forced to raise their young son by himself, much to his reluctance.

In 1989, he left for Kuwait, paying for his son to attend St. Hilarion's School for Boys as a border. While there, he was reportedly taken hostage by terrorists, leading to Charles remaining behind at St. Hilarion's over the Winter holiday of 1990.

Reflecting on his relationship with his father, Charles believed that he never wanted to be a parent in the first place and would be relieved to learn that his son was dead.
