The younger sister of Lyta, Thena was raised to worship Artemis - Diana - the Goddess of the Hunt, by their mother. Emulating the life of the Amazons, she was taught to fight, hunt and kill. However, she found it a lot more difficult to engage with the more violent practices than Lyta did, driving a wedge between them.
Leaving the commune of Amazonia, which she had called home for over a decade, Thena started her own family, giving birth to her two children, Barbara and Alexander.
Eventually returning back to Amazonia after the children's father abandoned them, the sisters raised the children together. However, the tensions between them were still there.
While Barbara turned to her aunt, seeing her as a role model, Alexander was always closer to Thena, as both were ostracised and seen as outcasts; Thena for leaving and starting a family and Alexander for being male.
When Lyta decided to pit the two siblings together to see who was worthy of Artemis' blessing, Thena watched helplessly as both her children sprinted off into the forest to grab their weapons. Begging her sister to call off this feat, her pleas fell on deaf ears, as Lyta threw back all the years of resentment she had towards her younger sister for being their "daddy's pet."
While Barbara killed Alexander, Lyta killed Thena, sparing her from seeing her daughter murder her son in the name of the Goddess.
Both Thena and Alexander's deaths were never reported to the local authorities.
