Robert Kane - Gotham Knights

Robert Kane, the son of esteemed industrialist Cameron Kane, had his life tragically cut short when he was murdered by the architect, Nicholas Anders.

Despite his best efforts to defend his father from Anders' assault, he was unsuccessful, leading to the deaths of both father and son.

In tribute to Robert's memory, the 22nd Bridge was renamed The Robert Kane Memorial Bridge.

Bradley Gates - Gotham Knights

Bradley Gates, a renowned architect in late 1800s Gotham, is celebrated for shaping the city's skyline. His notable works include 'The Three Sisters,' a trio of bridges symbolizing the prestige of Gotham's leading families - the Waynes, Elliots, and Cobblepots. These bridges were commissioned by eminent industrialists and philanthropists such as Alan Wayne, Theodore Cobblepot, and Edward Elliot.

Gates tragically died in a construction accident while building a fourth bridge, leaving a void in Gotham's architectural landscape and deeply affecting his step-brother and business partner, Nicholas Anders.

Convinced that Cameron Kane sabotaged the bridge project to divert it towards Kane County, Anders spiralled into despair and vengeance. He went to the extreme of murdering Cameron Kane and his son Robert in retaliation for Gates' death.

Nicholas Anders - Gotham Knights

Nicholas Anders, a celebrated architect and business partner to his step-brother Bradley Gates, greatly contributed to the modernization of Gotham. Commissioned by luminaries like Alan Wayne, Anders and Gates designed 'The Three Sisters,' a trio of bridges dedicated to the illustrious Waynes, Cobblepots, and Elliots, the projects' financial backers.

Tasked with constructing a fourth bridge, linking East End Gotham to Wayne-owned territory, an 'accident' at the construction site resulted in Bradley's death, leading to the project's redirection to Kane County. Suspecting foul play by Cameron Kane, Anders descended into despair, fruitlessly seeking evidence of Kane's alleged misdeeds.

Driven to his breaking point, Nicholas murdered Cameron and his son, Robert, in a bid for retribution. Subsequently apprehended and charged for their murders, Anders was declared criminally insane by the courts. His claims of foul play and sabotage surrounding Bradley's death were dismissed as extreme paranoia, warranting treatment by the Arkham Family.

New Trigate Bridge - Gotham Knights

Constructed in 1881, the New Trigate Bridge stands as a vital link in Gotham City's infrastructure. Part of a trio of bridges designed to improve access to the city's surrounding islands, known as The Three Sisters, it was commissioned by Alan Wayne, Theodore Cobblepot & Edward Elliot and designed by the celebrated young architects, Nicholas Anders and Bradley Gates.

The Robert Kane Memorial Bridge - Gotham Knights

The Robert Kane Memorial Bridge, originally known as the 22nd Bridge, is a significant part of Gotham's historical landscape. Constructed alongside the New Trigate and Madison bridges, collectively known as The Three Sisters, it was designed to enhance access to Gotham's islands, connecting what will become the West End and Financial Districts.

The bridge was renamed after a tragic incident. Nicholas Anders, blaming Cameron Kane and his son, Robert, for sabotaging their latest project and causing his step-brother’s death, murdered them. In memory of the fallen members of the Kane family, respected among the Court of Owls, the bridge was renamed the Robert Kane Memorial Bridge.

Cameron Kane - Gotham Knights

A descendant of Gotham's esteemed Kane Family, Cameron Kane, played a significant role in the financial backing of a new bridge project to expand the city's reach and facilitate trade routes. However, following the death of Bradley Gates, one half of the bridges head engineers and architects, accusations of murder and sabotage arose against Kane himself. Nicholas Anders, Gates' stepbrother and fellow engineer, blamed him for redirecting the bridge's course to Kane County, despite its reputation for corruption and crime. This decision seriously deviated from the original plan to connect to Wayne-owned territory, fueling the whispers of foul play.

Anders, driven by intense grief over the loss of his beloved step-brother, took matters into his own hands, exacting vengeance against the Kane Family; killing both Cameron and his son, Robert in cold blood.

With Anders' reputation in tatters, and deemed criminally insane by the court, his claims of malpractice were dismissed as paranoia and denial.

Despite the controversy surrounding the bridge's construction, the Kane family emerged from the tragedy with increased prominence. The bridge was renamed in honour of the late Robert and buisness within Kane County boomed.

The Three Sisters - Gotham Knights

The Three Sisters refer to the trio of bridges - New Trigate, Madison, and 22nd - in Gotham City, designed by stepbrothers Nicholas Anders and Bradley Gates. These bridges were part of a project by Alan Wayne, Theodore Cobblepot, Edward Elliot, and Cameron Kane to improve access to Gotham's surrounding islands.

Each bridge is unofficially named after a city's founding family, except for the Kanes and Arkhams, honoring the industrialists who transformed Gotham from a small settlement into a metropolis.

Bradley Gates tragically died during the construction of the latest bridge amid disputes over its destination. Suspicion fell on Kane, leading to Anders accusing him of sabotage. However, no evidence was found, and Anders resorted to murdering Cameron and his son Robert.

After Anders's imprisonment and the dismissal of his accusations as paranoia, the latest bridge was redirected to Kane County. The 22nd bridge was renamed the Robert Kane Memorial Bridge in honor of the deceased industrialists, who were respected members of the Court of Owls.

Scarface - Gotham Knights

A wooden ventriloquist dummy owned by notorious gang leader The Ventriloquist, aka Peyton Riley, Scarface as he became known is a real puzzle to the GCPD and members of the Bat Family.

There is heavy debate on which of the two is the real mastermind of their operations. While many conclude he is merely a lifeless wooden puppet, Riley adamantly believes that he is alive, influencing her to commit violent crimes.

After her arrest, Scarface was confiscated by the GCPD and placed in the precinct's Evidence Lock Up.

The Ventriloquist - Gotham Knights

The alter-ego of The Ventriloquist, Peyton Riley, is a costumed criminal and gang leader implicated in numerous violent crimes, including two homicides.

Currently in G.C.P.D custody and separated from her wooden puppet, Scarface, Riley has pleaded innocent to all charges. She asserts that the puppet controls the gang's operations and is responsible for the misdemeanours.

Black Mask - Gotham Knights

A well-known and feared gang leader in Gotham City, Black Mask, aka Roman Sionis, wields considerable power and influence in the criminal underworld.

When one of his adversaries was incarcerated in Blackgate Prison, he attempted to kill them before they could enter witness protection. However, Batman and his allies stopped this from happening.

Wishing to sabotage one of his competitors, Black Mask tried to shut off the beacon on top of the Cape Carmine Lighthouse, hoping the ship would run aground or crash into the cliffs surrounding Cape Carmine. Taking the lighthouse keeper, Georges, hostage, he was defeated and arrested by the Dark Knight.

Peyton Riley - Gotham Knights

The daughter of mob boss Sean Riley, Peyton Riley, grew up surrounded by violence and crime, thanks to her father's position as head of the Riley Crime Family.

Heavily influenced by her father's association with organised crime in her youth, Peyton would go on to become The Ventriloquist, earning a reputation that far surpassed her father's with the help of her partner, the wooden puppet Scarface.

Sean Riley - Gotham Knights

The head of the Riley Crime Family, dubbed "the Irish" mob, Sean Riley was an influential figure in Gotham organised crime, raising his daughter Peyton to follow in his footsteps and teaching her everything he knew.

This training would eventually lead to Peyton taking on the alias of The Ventriloquist and creating her own gang with the wooden ventriloquist dummy, Scarface at the helm.
