Over a century ago, the daughter of another of Gotham's most affluent families sought to speak the truth. Millie Jane Cobblepot saw her corrupt family members for who they truly were and tried to expose them.
When an attempt to lock her up in Arkham Asylum failed, they had her thrown into Blackgate on false charges. Millie Jane managed to escape the prison, leaving behind a diary rumoured to be full of damning accusations against her family.
The diary soon vanished but Millie Jane's message lives on, carved into the very walls that attempted and failed to hold her.
