The Library - Dead Boy Detectives: Season One

In one of the many side chambers of the Doll House is a small library with books that go up to the ceiling. Here the soul of Edwin's killer, Simon, resides, tearfully tearing out the pages of the spellbook he used to invoke the demon Sa'al. Each time he neared the end, the pages would just restore themself. Each rip, each tear, caused his hands to be nicked and cut and bleed; pain to body, soul and spirit. 

In the corner of the room is also a mirror, which was used by Despair of the Endless to watch Simon's torment, finding the scene to be exquisite. This mirror is shattered by Edwin Payne's return from the Gray Realm, severing the connection between the two planes. 

After Simon - with Edwin's help and guidance - shows himself some compassion and forgiveness for the hurt he had caused himself and others due to his own fears regarding his sexuality, he is taken away by Death of the Endless to a new afterlife, one where he can be kinder to himself, safe in the knowledge that Edwin - the boy he loved - did not hate him for the stupid prank, nor need he need not punish himself for being attracted to guys.
