After learning that Black Manta, his arch-nemesis, was in Gotham City, conducting an arms deal, he reluctantly travelled to Gotham to apprehend him. Seeking out Batman for aid, he teleported to the Batcave. While he did not find the Dark Knight himself, to his surprise and slight bemusement, he discovered that the famously isolationist Batman had a vast network of allies collaborating with him to keep the city and its people safe.
Arriving at the docks, he was disgusted and horrified by how polluted Gotham Bay was, cementing his overwhelming desire to finish his mission, leave Gotham as quickly as possible and never return.
Following Red Robin and Spoiler's lead, Aquaman and the Bat Family interrupt the weapons deal, capturing Manta and taking him into League custody.
