Teddy Lupus - Batman: The Animated Series: Season One

The stunt double and stand-in for the beloved actor Matthew Hagen, Teddy Lupus fell in love with Matt, starting a romantic relationship with the actor. Standing by his partner through thick and thin, he watched in despair as his boyfriend became hooked on Renuyu, following a car accident. Nevertheless, he did his best to be a supportive confidant, though this would often result in him becoming Hagen's emotional punching bag.

Trying his best to help his partner with his addiction, Teddy discreetly hid Hagen's jars of Renuyu, forcing him to only use his supply when necessary, so he would not run out. However, this act of love dramatically backfired when Hagen turned to Dagget in search of more of the drug, performing illegal acts of corporate espionage and attempted murder in exchange for his fix.

Disgusted by the demands of the corrupt C.E.O., he begged Hagen not to go through with Dagget's proposal, only to be ignored.

When Matt did not return that evening, Teddy went in search of him, starting with Dagget Industries. There he found Hagen unconscious and heavily mutated from an overdose of Renuyu, which had been force-fed to him by Germs and Raymond Bell after he was caught stealing from them. Horrified by what they had done to his partner, he dragged Matt back home to rest and recover from the traumatic ordeal. There he would continue to show him love and compassion.

Wishing to take revenge on Dagget for ruining Matt's life, he initially helped facilitate Clayface's revenge scheme. However, as the plan became more extreme, with threats to kill Roland, he finally relented. After voicing his concerns that Hagen was going too far, he was met with outrage from his partner, breaking up with him then and there.

After Clayface faked his death during a confrontation with Batman, Teddy visited the morgue, saying his final goodbye to Matt. While they had ended on bad terms, he still loved Hagen.

He was unaware that Hagen had survived and was, at that moment watching him in a new form.
