A teenager growing up in the UK during the late 20th Century, Charles Rowland was a student at a local private school. Regularly victimised by his peers, he died from hypothermia after a group of bullies attacked him while he was bathing in a lake. Unable to reach the shore, he stood in the freezing water as they proceeded to hurl rocks at the terrified boy.
Despite dying and meeting with the personification of Death herself, his spirit did not officially pass over to the Afterlife, remaining on the mortal plane as a ghost.
