Accompanying her master to Berlin in his mission to hunt down and corral the rogue nightmare, The Corinthian in 1916, she was transported to the basement beneath Fawny Rig by Roderick Burgess and his Order of Ancient Mysteries. Escaping before they had the chance to imprison her, she spent the next ten years stalking "the Magus". She searched for the ideal time to free Dream from his spherical glass prison, all the while avoiding their numerous efforts to capture and kill her. However, her luck eventually ran out, when after successfully creating a diversion by burning Burgess’s sofa, she was shot and killed by Burgess's son, Alex. This was before she could break the cage with her beak.
Wishing vengeance upon Alex for killing Jessamy all those years earlier, Dream, now free from his imprisonment, used a small sample of sand to grant him the “gift” of eternal sleep.
Her death left a lasting impression on Dream, who was initially hesitant about taking on a new raven, Matthew, for fear of similarly losing him.
