The Principal - Dead Boy Detectives: Season One

In the realm beyond mortal existence, a complex administrative system exists to manage the souls of the departed. A key figure in this system is "The Principal", also known as "Your Finality". The second-in-command, she oversees the various departments involved in soul processing, wielding considerable power and authority, second only to Death of the Endless.

After the Night Nurse's constant failure to acquire the souls of Charles Rowland and Edwin Payne, The Principal and her subordinate travelled to London to finish the job once and for all. Informing the boys that escaping Death was impossible, she humoured Payne's request for asylum on Earth, asking if he had the prerequisite documents to make such a plea.

As the pair talk, The Principal's attention is drawn to the Agency's list of resolved cases. Cross-referencing the names on the list with the souls that the Lost & Found Department had successfully transitioned over the past few decades, she concluded that Charles and Edwin were performing selflessly and effectively, earning positive feedback and a good reputation.

Empowered by Death, The Principal decided to overlook their clerical errors and allowed the boys to stay on Earth, where they would continue to operate the Dead Boy Detective Agency. She would also appoint the Night Nurse as their liaison to ensure their work adhered to the After Life's rules and protocols. The Principal would also be committed to regular check-ins to confirm their continued usefulness, a condition the boys readily accepted.
