Capturing one of the Hunger Dogs' most eloquent and well-respected speakers, Graggin, he took over his life and continued making speeches, with a far more sinister purpose; to ensnare anyone who dared to dream of a better world without the New God's tyranny.
In this new guise, he had captured fourteen rebels, giving homilies in the slums of Apokolips as bait. On August 26, he gave one such address in an Armaggedan bar, which sparked interest from one young woman, Jovita, and much fear and derision from the others, including the weary barkeep Kreetin.
Met with such outrage and hostility, "Graggin" was quickly ejected from the bar. However, as he was leaving, Jovita approached him, inquiring more into what he had said.
Taking her to a remote location to supposedly meet people who shared their beliefs, they were set upon by Parademons. Revealing his true form to the horrified woman, he callously dubbed her a traitor to Apokolips and mocked how susceptible she was to the notion of rebellion.
