Despite her best efforts to manage Zeus's growing legal troubles, including charges of bribery, smuggling, extortion, racketeering, and attempted first-degree murder, she was unable to prevent the mounting litigations against him. Zeus, however, chose to ignore these allegations and instead focused on transforming his corporate headquarters into the New Olympus.
Clio concealed her love for Zeus behind a facade of constant cynicism, a mask that occasionally slipped, revealing her heartbreak over his criminal activities. While most of Zeus's employees saw his obsession with Greek mythology as a harmless hobby or phase, Clio recognized it as a serious problem and sought Batman's help.
When she failed to dissuade Zeus from shooting down a GCPD blimp with his stolen Electron Discharge Cannon, he branded her a traitor. He ordered her to be tied to the device, believing that her death would lead to her resurrection as a goddess who would rule at his side without protest. However, Batman managed to free her before Zeus could fire the cannon.
Realizing that Zeus was beyond redemption, Clio watched in horror as he recklessly endangered himself to retrieve his makeshift thunderbolt, resulting in severe injuries.
