Surviving the initial purge of costumed heroes and meta-humans by Darkseid's forces, Batwing went underground with the rest of the Bat Family. There he waited for an opportunity to strike back and repel the Apokoliptians from Earth.
Attacking one of the three Apokoliptian Reapers with Batwoman,
Batgirl, Black Orchid and The House of Mystery, Batwing was shot out of the sky. His lifeless body fell into the ocean below.
